MSNA is proud to support the Shenandoah Butterfly Project which now has its very own Butterfly Garden in Shenandoah Park (near the tennis courts and playground). Founded by Shenandoah resident, Miguel Brown, the project aims to plant native butterfly host plants that will help the bring species such as monarch, atala, fritillary and swallowtail butterflies thrive.

Help us care for the Butterfly Garden
There are a few simple things we all can do to help care for the Shenandoah Butterfly Garden:
- Don't throw bird seed into the garden. The seeds grow into weeds that someone has to go take out by hand.
- Kindly ask children to stay out of the garden. We wouldn't want them accidentally smooshing a caterpillar with their little feet.
- If you see a caterpillar that has strayed from the garden, gently help guide it back.
